The Static Hearts is a high-energy, punk-influenced band formed in 2024. Their sound fuses elements of emo, garage punk, surf, and thrash, bringing a refreshing twist to the genre. They are set to take the West Coast by storm with their debut EP and upcoming shows. With a passion for jamming, touring, and creating new music, this Huntington Park-based band is ready to share their energetic sound with the world. Here's their story, enjoy!
The Static Hearts came together through a series of fortunate connections, all facilitated by their mutual friend, Mel. After a rocky experience with a previous band, Jesse (rhythm guitar, lead vocals) was introduced to Stevie (lead guitar, backing vocals), Tyler (bass), and Elijah (drums), who eventually replaced the previous drummer, Nick. With Mel's continued support, The Static Hearts were able to refine and develop a unique sound that blends punk, surf, and emo influences. Through a collaborative process, they brought their diverse backgrounds and musical tastes to the table, creating a distinctive, energetic sound that is both intense and emotive. While their primary focus is playing original material, The Static Hearts has occasionally incorporated their versions of covers into their performance, enhancing their live sets and delivering a well-rounded experience to their audience.
The Static Hearts' sound is a powerful mix of emo, garage punk, surf, and thrash, driven by Jesse's raw vocals and honest, heartfelt lyrics. Drawing inspiration from many influences, ranging from classic punk bands like GBH and the Misfits to emo icon Joyce Manor. Their songwriting has been highly influenced by Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains and Sad Park. Their sound is further layered by Stevie's classical rock sensibilities and Elijah's shoegaze-inspired drumming. The result is a unique blend that's equal parts energetic and emotional, perfect for fans of early classic emo and punk.
The Static Hearts' name was born from a lively discussion among the band members. Jesse's initial suggestion for the band name included "Just Banana Bread" and "Banana Bread At Work," which didn't quite hit the mark with Stevie. Through a collaborative approach, the group brainstormed new alternative ideas. After going through a list of options, "The Static Hearts" eventually resonated with the entire band, capturing a perfect representation of their musical style and identity. With their name set, The Static Hearts aimed to create music that embodies energy and movement.
Dedicated to their craft, The Static Hearts continually write, record, and perform new music, with touring and live shows fueling their creative process. Their goal is to spread their infectious sound with new audiences, hoping people enjoy it as much as they do.
With their creative momentum in full swing, The Static Hearts are gearing up for a busy year ahead. They've set to hit the road at shows lined up, taking them up and down the coast, with potential future trips to Washington and Mexico on the horizon. Meanwhile, they're prepping their debut EP release, and working hard on recording their album – with 12 more tracks to lay down. New music is pouring out, with the band writing almost every month, keeping their output fresh and exciting.
