The Carbon Hearts formed in 2022 in the Inland Empire, with roots tracing back to Cherry Valley, CA. The band consists of middle school friends Cole, who handles vocals and guitar, and Elodio, also on guitar. They're joined by Anthony on drums and Kitty on bass. The band was brought together by the local scene in the Inland Empire. Their sound blends elements of alternative rock, post-punk, and indie rock, creating a dynamic and engaging musical experience. Each member has a rich musical background that predates the formation of the band.
The Carbon Hearts came together as a band in 2022, but the journey began years earlier. Cole and Elodio met in middle school and started playing music together, experimenting with different sounds and styles. Their shared passion and long-standing friendship laid the foundation for what would become The Carbon Hearts.
Although the band originated in Cherry Valley, CA, its members now reside all throughout the Inland Empire. Anthony, the drummer, came on board after meeting Vocalist, Cole while working together at Vans. Their mutual connection at work led to jam sessions that revealed Anthony's drumming talent and solidified his place in the band. Bassist, Kitty, was introduced through the local music scene - her style and energy were an immediate fit. By putting their musical talents together, they have created music that resonates with authenticity and passion.
The Carbon Hearts' distinctive sound blends alternative rock with strong influences from post-punk, indie rock, emo, and visual kei, creating a unique fusion.
The Inland Empire's local scene has been a significant inspiration sparking the desire to form a band that reflects their shared experiences and musical passions. Each member brings a unique set of influences to the table. Together, they create a sound that blends these diverse influences, resulting in a unique musical prowess.
The name "The Carbon Hearts" was created by guitarist, Elodio. He came up with the name when he experienced a sudden burst of inspiration while adjusting his amplifier. The name resonated with all the band members, and it felt like the perfect fit as they were searching for a band name that encapsulated their essence.
What adds to their talent is their incredible musical background. Kitty specialized in jazz and developed a fluency for various genres and instruments, while also being an expert in playing the upright bass. Cole also studied classical music while in school. Elodio and Anthony have been playing for quite some time, dating back to their earlier school days. Also, Anthony has had previous experience playing guitar for multiple punk and hardcore bands.
The Carbon Hearts have always focused on creating original music for their audience and have enjoyed incorporating a couple covers into each set, tailoring them to fit a unique style. As far as group goals, they would love to see the band grow and prosper as much as possible but more importantly connecting with fans whenever they can. As a band, they hope to make a positive impact on someone’s life through their music, even if it's small. The Carbon Hearts have an upcoming performance playing at DBZ Backstage on May 9th, 2025. They are excited to share their music with their loyal fans and look forward to more shows in the future.
