Formed in 2022, Live Long merges classic and modern shoegaze to craft a unique sound. Drawing inspiration from bands like Whirr, My Bloody Valentine, Luster, and Nothing. They are a band of introverts who found their sound through guitar riffs and dreamy melodies. Check out their story!
The group initially came together in 2022. After a break, they regrouped with some of the original members and added some fresh faces to the mix. Claiming the San Fernando Valley as the group's roots, the journey began even though each member is spread out between SFV and North Hollywood. Despite their geographic spread, their camaraderie and shared passion for music drove their creative journey. The current lineup includes Adrian on vocals/guitar, Amie on bass, Josue on drums, and Danny on guitar.
The band's name is a tribute to Abe Vigoda, a tropical noise punk band that clearly resonated with them. When brainstorming names, Abe Vigoda's song stood out, and they knew this was it. Their music left a lasting impression, and Live Long was born from that connection.
Their sound is shaped by a mix of modern and classic shoegaze influences. Bands like Whirr, My Bloody Valentine, Luster, and Nothing have had a significant impact on their music. It all started when they discovered Whirr's dreamy, swirling soundscapes, which led the exploration of other shoegaze bands. They immersed themselves in the genre, drawing inspiration from both past and present. This blend of old and new helped craft their own unique sound, one that pays homage to the shoegaze roots while pushing the boundaries of the genre.
They began by playing a few covers, but soon shifted focus to crafting originals. Their first two songs, 'With You' and 'Feeling the Sounds', ended up on their debut EP. Since then, they've continued to grow and write more new material, expanding their discography and enhancing their chemistry.
They're a low-key band, just a bunch of introverts making music. Their main goal is to get their name out there, play as many shows as possible, and maybe even snag a tour. The ultimate dream is to share the stage with bands and artists that they admire since their creation.
"We are in the process of writing new music and will be going to the studio soon! Keep a look out."
"I would recommend our friends band called Da/Ze based from Texas! Check out their song 'She Said.' Also, Sparkler, Despïa, Sueños, Cruel Reflections, and FindersKeepers"
Another badass song from Live Long!!
