Couch $urf is an Alt/Punk band from East LA, formed in 2019 at Eastside Rehearsal. Their unique sound has evolved from early 2000s indie to high-energy Skate Punk. They took some time out of their busy schedules to talk to us. Here's a little more about them, hope you enjoy!
How it All Started
Couch $urf is an Alt/Punk band that emerged from East Los Angeles, CA. Founded in 2019, the band came together at Eastside Rehearsal, a small yet notable inspiring studio that served as the start for their creative journey. The band came together after meeting at the social networking platform, Vampr. They instantly connected and discovered they shared a passion for music, ultimately leading to the birth of Couch $urf. The band, a collective of like-minded and talented individuals, were united by their desire to create and perform high energy original music.
Couch $urf - Who Are They?
Over the years, Couch $urf's distinctive sound has gone through some changes and become a blend of musical inspirations that have made them who they are. Initially, their sound was focused on early 2000s indie rock and has now evolved into a more high-energy Skate Punk - mixing thoughtful lyrics with energetic vibes. The band's name is a nod to the lead vocalist's upbringing in Inland Empire, which has influenced their artistic identity and emotional themes of angst and the desire to find one's true identity. Couch $urf has always been committed to creating original music and has developed a distinctive sound, yielding a diverse and dynamic collection of songs that showcases their growth and passion. By focusing on original material, they've established a distinctive sound that sets them apart from other bands.
What's Next for Couch $urf?
